This set contains around 1.9 kg of natural Amethyst mineral specimens from Morocco. Each piece has its own combination of purple tones, crystalline points, markings and natural matrix, giving the collection plenty of variety when displayed together.

Amethyst is a purple form of Quartz whose colour is influenced by iron and natural irradiation during formation. It is commonly found in crystal-lined cavities within volcanic rock, where it develops slowly over very long periods of time.

The name Amethyst comes from the Greek word amethystos, meaning “not intoxicated.” Ancient Greek tradition held that the stone could protect its owner from drunkenness—a fairly ambitious responsibility for a mineral. Today, Amethyst is traditionally associated with calm, clarity, harmony and reflection.

Use the specimens together as a generous display, place them around different rooms or share them as individual gifts. As these are natural stones, every set will differ in colour, size, shape and crystal formation.
